Pinwheel x Tyneside Cinema

From Our Streets to Our Seas

Over 12 months, Pinwheel has been working with Tyneside Cinema - Newcastle’s iconic independent cinema - to bring their brilliant work beyond the physical walls. From Our Streets to Our Seas is a programme of activity and events, tracing a journey from the city to the coast, connecting with communities and reflecting their stories, heritage, and culture.

We have worked with amazing partners at West End Women and Girls Centre and The Bostey in Newcastle, and the North Shields Fish Quay.

The project culminated in a celebratory event as part of NS800 featuring a full showcase of the work at Salt Market Social in North Shields, including a photography exhibition by Amberside and a panel Q&A with local voices who have both shaped and been shaped by the Fish Quay.
